We Began In 2004

Many local businesses, organizations, and individual donors fund scholarships utilizing Dollars for Scholars Pass-Through Scholarships.  In addition, some families have established memorial scholarships in honor of loved ones.  The donor funds the scholarships, may set a criteria for the scholarship award, such as community service, but allow the local chapter to screen the applications and assign the appropriate award.  Scholarship awards are set at a minimum of $500 each.  On occasion, Pass-Through Donors have provided scholarships of $1,000 to recipients.

Applications are scored according to guidelines suggested by the national organization.  No financial information is requested, as financial need is not a pre-requisite for application, nor a criteria used in determining an award.  Since the Chapter's inception in 2004, 93 Scholarships have been awarded totaling $50,450.
